It’s very busy.
They see a new patient – with a new condition – every 15 minutes. As well as the booked appointments, there are also emergency cases that come flying through the door. As you can imagine, it makes for a pretty full-on workday!
It doesn’t end at 5pm.
Veterinary teams don’t leave their work at the door – they’re usually thinking about their patients after-hours too. And if there’s a critical surgery that needs to be done, the team will often work late.
It can be an emotional roller-coaster.
Vets love their job – especially seeing the special bond between animals and their owners. But the job also has its tougher moments.
